What Happened?

When I started reading this story it had so much promise and then around the 3rd and 4th chapters it takes a wrong turn.I am all for HEA in all the books I read but you first have to get there.I didn't feel a connection with either character and what was happening.I think something is missing a second look by the writer wouldn't hurt.

Unique plot...worth reading!

Another great read by Colleen Masters. I've never read anything of hers that I didn't enjoy!
Callie and Avery are twin sisters who grew up hanging out with Jack. Callie always had a secret crush on jack, but felt like Avery was really the one Jack wanted so she never made her feelings known. When she was 18 Callie had a huge falling out with her parents and left. She moved out on her own and stopped having anything to do with anyone from back home, including her sister and her lifelong friend Jack.
As the years pass Callie keeps track of Jack's life from afar and sees him move to Hollywood to be the actor he always wanted to be. Avery moved out there with him and they became engaged. Even after all this time, that was still hurtful for Callie.
One morning Callie finds out that her sister has died of a drug overdose, so she is forced to go home and face her family and Jack both. She can't help but still have feelings for Jack, even though she feels like a monster for feeling that way about her dead sister's fiance. But are things exactly as they seem from the outside? Was Jack really romantically involved with Avery, or was he just trying to be a good friend and protect her from her own self destructive behavior? And what does that mean about any possibility of a future between Callie and Jack?
This was a completely unique storyline and was full of unexpected twists and turns along the way. Jack easily goes from being the best kind of friend you could ever want, to being the best boyfriend/lover you could ever want. Everyone needs someone who will love and fight for and protect them like Jack does for BOTH Avery and Callie.

Lots of typos and missing words. Very distracting.

Spoiler Alert!
I had a few problems with this book. First, I don't know of anyone in this day and age that would sign any kind of contract without reading it and taking it to a lawyer to look over it. Second, I can't image that there would not be a clause for consequences of breaking said contract. Also, there was no discussion of condoms or health status of either party before having sex. I find this very disturbing in today's society, not to mention, Jackson talks about his very active love life.

I have enjoyed many of Colleen Masters stories, and have recommended them. So, if you read this one, and weren't impressed, I encourage you to try the Faster series, or any others by her.
