Pretty Great!

I was very excited to read yet another Tymber Dalton sci-fi book, after reading and re-reading her "Love at First Bight", so I immediately swept this book up as soon as I could.

Overall, it was a pretty great book with the exception of: 1) The length. It's a huge book, and at times does get slightly tedious.
2) The whole alien culture was slightly confusing. You can mostly ignore that part, but when whole chunks of the story hinge on your understanding of how alien relationships work, it gets a tad frustrating.
3) For a super tough, super smart space captain, the heroine sure does make really stupid decisions.

Other than those (minor) parts this book was great and highly recommended.

The romance between the 3 was very believable and the steamy sex scenes were not gratuitous.

This one of the best books I've read! I really felt the characters were in space. And unlike many erotic novels which only have sex and a skimpy plot this one really delves in the feelings of the main character Aine. There were a couple of sections when I got pretty teary eyed.
Aine has been abandoned. And I could feel her desperate loneliness and how she becomes the `Ice Queen' to cope. She channels all her heartbreak and devestation into an unwavering duty as a Confederation captain. As a result Aine is afraid to love again but she is surprised when she finds unexpected with 2 men. The romance between the 3 was very believable and the steamy sex scenes were not gratuitous. The 3 bond through sex which causes physical changes that give Aine longer life and resistance to disease. And the way they `do it' was actually kinda funny. The 2 men are super sexy. Protective hunks but they do not walk all over Aine and respect her enough to make her own decisions even if it pains/hurts them.
I am sooo glad I purchased the print book instead of the e book because I enjoyed it so much I would have wanted a print copy immediately! This a really touching love story that has scorching scenes and a story that I never wanted to end.
I hope the author continues this series.

TD does it again with a fantastically enjoyable and emotional story. It was deep and sexy and romantic and suspenseful and heart wrenching all at the same time! I love how the author gets you invested in each and every character in the story. These men fell for Aine hard and claimed her for their own. I liked her fierce loyalty and strength to her fathers. However, that tended to stand in her way of total and complete loyalty to her men. That was a profound lesson she had to learn before the end. A painful lesson for all three. But it was absolutely beautiful how they went down this road together and learned how to trust each other again. They were simply not whole when they weren't together. I love that. I could go on and on. Great attention to detail, sexy love scenes, heart warming storyline.... loved it!!! Don't miss it!!

Much better work exists - for the investment.

I didn't do a very good job checking out this book before purchasing.
I usually do a more thorough review of an author's background.
Brother George lays out some of the rudimentary facts concerning the pagan and occult elements which over many years have been added to the recipe of Catholicism.

However, chapter 2 is a classic discourse teaching of Calvinism.
And if you know anything about this, you know that to ask a devout Calvinist to critique Catholicism is like asking a daughter to critique her mother.
A critique severely limited to say the least, as they both share the same taproot (Augustine) who you must already know is considered one of the premier examples of mixing neo-Platonism into Christianity, and here is where Plato's doctrine of full DDI came in as well.

This book was a great help in giving ideas on what you can do and ask Google Home to tell you. It has very good ideas to use this unit, it should have been given with the Google Home unit when I bought it.

It explains more then the documentaion that comes with Google Home but does not go into much detail. The price is reasonable and it will help. I think time will improve getting more info on the product. Even U-Tube info is very vague. Worth the price even if you only pick up one thing you did not know and having an electronic version made it better.

Great beginners book - I found this very easy to follow and appreciated the very detailed illustrations which made every step super clear. I have already made some mittens, which were so easy I am now making several more pairs as gifts. After that, I plan to tackle some matching hats in different stitches. Great e-book!

FUN and Easy!

My niece and I wanted to learn knitting together so I chose this as the projects looked cute and there were some great choices that we could each enjoy making. Lovely book, very easy to follow and pretty full color illustrations. We were both knitting right away and have made a lovely scarf and matching hat. We're now starting on some cute bunnies for her room. Lovely book at a great price.

The Coal War

Seamus Milnes book takes as it's starting point the 1990 Daily Mirror/Cook Report "scoop" regarding Arthur Scargill and his National Union of Mineworkers associate Peter Heathfield. They were accused of embezzling monies to pay off their mortgages from donations made by Libyan Trade Unionists during the 1984-85 Miners Strike. The story led to Scargill and Heathfield being subjected to a number of lawsuits from their own Trade Unions executive, as well as a variety of Government bodies, investigations by the Inland Revenue and the Serious Fraud Office and left Scargills reputation in tatters. After months of official investigations, it turned out that the accusations were entirely false: one didn't have a mortgage, the other had paid his off out of his savings. Not only that, but the one person who had been involved in fraud (not counting the then Daily Mirror proprietor Robert Maxwell who enthusiastically supported the false claims) was the Daily Mirrors and the Cook Reports single source: Roger Windsor, the leading non-elected officer of the NUM through-out the Miners Strike of 1984-85. The information that Milne collated for this book strongly suggests that Roger Windsor was an informer, or agent, for the security services whose head of Trade Union espionage during the Miners Strike was Stella Rimmington, later to be the first female head of MI5.

Milne goes beyond debunking the smear campaign against Scargill and Heathfield to looking at a variety of other issues surrounding the Miners Strike. The activities of the Media, the Conservative Party, the right-wing of the Labour Party, MI5, a disparate bunch of right wing loons (not to be confused with MI5!), Special Branch and GCHQ during the strike, and in the subsequent destruction of the NUM and the British Coal industry are forensically scrutinized. The story that emerges is an ugly one that reveals the reality of power in Britain's "Democracy", the systematic emasculating of the Trade Union movement during the 1980's, the beginnings of what became New Labour, and the subversive and undemocratic nature of the Security Services role in British political life (as was again made clear with regard to the role of MI6 in the campaign for the Iraq War in 2002-03).

Milne's book is dense with detail, clearly written and essential to a full understanding of the Thatcher period in particular, and the British political scene in general. As an example of investigative journalism "The Enemy Within" is exceptional, and one that I can't recommend highly enough to anyone who is serious about the real story of what was possibly the most important event in post-war British history.

Good exposition but more documentation needed.

I'd like to begin with a disclaimer: I broadly share the politics of the author and I'm sure this influenced my rating. ...I would have preferred much MORE detail, ...In particular, I think it is regrettable that there is no appendix which gives verbatim extended extracts of the original Mirror and Cook reports to which the book is a rebuttal. (To be fair, this might not be the fault of the author -- it's possible that copyright considerations prevented the inclusion of such material. However, even if this is so, he should have mentioned it in the preface or acknowledgements.) I was somewhat put off by the author's unstinting admiration for Arthur Scargill. Yes, he has suffered a lot, and I'm sympathetic, too. But surely many of his unpopular stances (such as his adamant refusal to condemn any picket-line violence) could have been subjected to greater scrutiny. Despite these critical comments, I believe that this book is essential reading since it is a case study which constitutes a critical contribution to a much under-explored topic -- mainstream media coverage of the Industrial Left. I was also very impressed by the long list of works which Milne referred to. This gave me the impression that Milne had a great deal of background information to work with, and further motivated me to consult these other works.

Scargill and Heathfield were heroes of the first order!

Before I go on to say what a fabulous piece of work this is, I must stress one criticism. I felt Milne went into perhaps too much detail about what happened to 'this million' or 'that million' with reference to where Scargill and Heathfield hid the NUM's donations. Although interesting, I would like to also have seen Arthur himself give a closer look at his own perspective of events surrounding the strike. I feel this would ultimately have been more revealing about the nature of the whole smear campaign than so much time and print being spent on the detail.
What double dealing and hypocrisy from everyone from the Soviets to Kinnock though! I'm sure I feel more angry at the likes of Ron Todd (not mentioned much actually) Neil Kinnock and the whole TUC and Labour Party than I ever will about Thatcher and her despicable (but at least openly hostile)cronies.
Anyway, I was moved by the miners' story. I am ashamed on behalf of all the British people who voted for, and kept voting for, Thatcher.
I am only sad that a movie has not been made based on this book. It's nail-biting stuff reminiscent of Forsyth so why is there so little literature and film on what happened? Where's Ken Loach? Come on Ken, get a film made of it all!
