About the Author
A prolific writer of both scholarly and popular books, N. T. Wright has written over thirty books, including Simply Christian, The Original Jesus, What Saint Paul Really Said, The Challenge of Jesus, The Meaning of Jesus, Jesus and the Victory of God and the magisterial Paul and the Faithfulness of God. His N. T. Wright For Everyone Series includes commentaries covering the entire New Testament. Formerly bishop of Durham in England, Wright is research professor of New Testament and early Christianity at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. He was formerly canon theologian of Westminster Abbey and dean of Lichfield Cathedral. He also taught New Testament studies for twenty years at Cambridge, McGill and Oxford Universities. He has been a visiting professor at Harvard Divinity School, Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Gregorian University in Rome and many other institutions around the world. In addition to his many books, Wright reaches a broad audience through his frequent media appearances. A sought-after commentator, Wright writes frequently for newspapers in England, including the Times, the Independent and the Guardian. He has been interviewed numerous times by radio and television broadcasters on both sides of the Atlantic, including ABC, NBC, CNN, PBS and NPR.

Our group

I have two different sets of friends that I am studying this with, the first group, long established Christians, find that the questions posed may give rise to some deep thought, and are enjoying this book. My second group, who are new to Bible Study also like the book, and give either "I don't know" or very simple superficial answers, which leads to some very teachable moments, which whilst straying away from the text, do lead to a greater understanding of the Good News of Christ. Recommended!

Excellent Personal Study

I just completed this study on my own using the Kindle version. I found it excellent--thorough, thought provoking, challenging and uplifting. Each lesson begins with an opening question followed by questions on the portion of text for that lesson and ends with prayer. Sometimes the author adds notes of explanation on difficult portions of scripture or passages that scholars disagree on. I liked this format and the content was excellent.

Not good for group study

Not very good for group study, in my opinion. I used this for a class, and all of us found the discussion questions vague or irrelevant. I have found that the other N.T. Wright books are thought provoking and excellent, but this one not so much. We shifted to another book half way through the study...
